  2. Hello, I just joined blogger today. This blog is very informative. My grandfather was Tan San Tee and great grandfather Tan Hoon Hin. I was born and live in Australia. My father Tan Kwan Chye migrated to Australia in the 1950s. Do you have any info on Tan Hoon Hin or related history. Thanks Robyn Tan

  4. Just dug up a framed color photograph of the late KKL previously owned by my dad and now in my possession. Its carefully stored among other inherited family stuff. The framed picture hung prominently in my parents home for decades.

  5. My dad's mother (grandma passed on in 1942, grave at Cheng) is KKL's elder sister. I'm related through the maternal line. KKL is wholly responsible for my dad's support, education, and welfare till he achieved high government post Merdeka. My dad is greatly indebted to him. I recall meeting KKL when very young in the mid 60's at the house in Limbongan, unsure who lives there now and never been back since. My dad greatly resembled KKL during his final years. My dad passed in 1983.

    1. Hi Lee,

Thanks for the sharing. I would love to know more about KKL's personal life, such as his children. The article here is taken mainly from The Who’s Who in Malaysia.

  6. Hi Eugene,
I know very little about him except of his reputation from my dad. His wife, grand-aunty Molly migrated with some family members to Australia after his demise, I honestly don't know what become of them thereon. I was too young to anything further. My cousin in Malacca bought over GAunty's Toyota car and used it for the next amazing 40 years. I was recently told that his grandson now lives or own the house in Limbongan which still stand as a legacy to KKL. Perhaps you meet with the current occupant of the house may reveal a lot more information.
All I have is his picture portrait and some very old pictures of him and his wife present at my parents wedding in Johor Bahru in 1956.
